Jobs/Volunteer Opportunities
Flower Calendar
The 2013 Flower Calendar is posted on the bulletin board
in the church lobby. Anyone wishing to remember a loved one, or celebrate a
birthday or anniversary can sign up. A suggested donation of $25 would be
appreciated to help defray the cost of the flowers. Donors are welcome to take
home the flowers after the worship service. For more information, don't hesitate to contact the office.
Sunday Coffee Fellowship
The Board of Deacons invite
you to help us provide weekly coffee hour refreshments. A sign up sheet is
posted on the bulletin board located by the entrance for your convenience. Please contact the Board of Deacons for more information. Thank you!
Food Donations
The San Francisco Food Bank's network of neighborhood pantries includes 55 Healthy children’s Pantries
at public schools and housing sites throughout San Francisco. Each week 4,500
families struggling to make ends meet can count on a full bag of groceries
right from a pantry in their neighborhood. You can help feed families at risk
of hunger by donating their most needed items: cereal, canned meat, canned
vegetables, rice, peanut butter, 100% juice (no glass containers please) but
please give as you are able. A food
barrel is located on the first floor (near front door entrance) for your
donations. Please contact the office for more information.
Ewaste4Good
Do you have any e-waste that
you would like to get rid of? Go to www.ewaste4good.com
(or call 1-800-317-3112), mention CUPC, and schedule a home or office pick up.
Part of the proceeds will be sent to our church. Contact Barbara for more information.
Chirashi/Manju Sale
At various times throughout the year, the
Japanese-speaking ministries hold chirashi sushi and/or manju sales (Daifuku,
Kuri, Green Tea, Ohagi, and mixed plate).
The cost per plate for either type is only $5. All proceeds from the sale will go to the
Christian Relief, Assistance, Support and Hope (CRASH) Japan for disaster
relief in Japan. They are always seeking
volunteers. Contact Pastor Hiroko if
you’re interested in helping or want to place an order.
"Visiting Pastor" Publications
Another great volunteer opportunity to serve is in Visiting Pastor Publications which happens every second Wednesdays starting at 7 p.m. at the office. Contact the office for more information.
"Partners in English"
Volunteer PIE Night (Partners in English) Coordinator and Leaders - This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain valuable experience teaching English and/or for anyone who wants to get to know new people from all over the world. A serving or 2 of pie with a glass of coffee or tea are on the house! Contact Pastor Hiroko for more information.
"Relay for Life"
Taking part in "Relay For Life" at Crissy Field during the summer has become a new tradition for us. It's always been both an enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone. We are always looking for great leaders to join our team. If being a leader is not your cup-of-tea, then you can always support the committee in other ways such as in making donations of food for the event and money to the American Cancer Society, providing transportation, and in sponsoring a leader or team as a whole. For more information, please contact Rod. Thank you!
